She was a puny bit of the whole conglomeration. Though so tiny she could move. She was moving at breakneck speed with so many others like her and they all seemed like long lost sisters.

When she became conscious of herself she was swimming away to glory to she did not know where. She had vague memories of being part of a bigger whole where she was going round in endless circles with many others like her.

But those memories had faded away fast when she found herself a microscopic part of this exodus. They all did not know where they started and where was the end of this mass migration.

In her awareness there was little bit of purpose to all this. As if all their tiny efforts added up to great constructive actions of a big body. But apart from this vague idea she had no inkling about this body of which they all were just parts.

There were other ideas floating around that they were all relays of forces which made movements of parts or organs in the body possible. And that there were many such bodies existing in the creation.

She was also aware of a negative aura around her being. And she had awareness of other entities similar to her with positive auras. These auras of charges balanced each other except when so many like her were flinging across from a source to a destination.

And now the destination seemed to be near. Soon it will be the end of her short life. She was just a part of an electrical impulse like a current in somebody - John's brain.

She was part of a live chain between neurons of the brain and fleeting lives like hers gave rise to the actions, thoughts and behavior in the body.

Her arrival at the destination with many sisters signaled the muscles of John's fingers to contract and catapult the big chunk of chocolate into his mouth. And then somewhere in the brain there were others like her alive to let the mouth muscles to do the work to mince and chew this delectable piece of chocolate.

Well it is the work of electrons like her to deliver the electrical impulses from the brain to different muscles and body parts.

Resolving not to look back

According to the Gita it seems there is a spiritual sky or world apart from our material world, not visible readily to our imperfect senses. It seems that the material world is only a quarter of the spiritual world. The other interesting point to be noted is that - as the material world is full of miseries linked to birth, death, ageing, injury and disease, the spiritual world is completely rid of these. The bodily conception of life is based on the fact that life is there while the body is living but the soul which is an integral part of life is eternal and never dies like the body. To attain the spiritual sky or the lord, referred to as Krishna in the Gita the living entity must serve the super soul as an eternal servitor.
