No looking back

  The damn dog was barking hard again. He couldn't guess what it was this time. He cautiously approached the window and peered through the curtain. Not a soul was to be seen in the cold wintry night. He wondered and was surprised at the cocked ears and the raised hackles. There had to be something unless it was the ghosts that were disturbing the poor thing. The man was lanky but smart looking with an aquiline nose. He was smirking and was ready to bet that it was again linked to some kids' pranks that his poor dog was irritated so. He lived alone and accepted it as destiny. He was an IT professional and had not much time to dwell on the lack of a woman in his life. He shrugged and gave up thinking of the dog barking though strangely this time it was lasting an awfully long time. Unsurely he turned on the switch not knowing what to expect. To his utter delight he was in front of his wife the next moment who was smiling dazzlingly at him. He could not believe his eyes that it worked. They were together now. He had already achieved half of what he had set out to. He related this to her and she was also taken aback. Now they had two choices depending on the full success of the mechanism. He had the remote in his hands as he noticed. How he longed to be with his wife forever. You can do anything. Whatever we think happens. This life is a mirror of our mind. This mirror is very honest. The man knew this well. He had no one though he was successful and competent. He was a simple and sweet man but lived alone. He did have friends but was without a partner. No matter how many parties he attended no woman had fallen for him yet. He did not regret this. Rather accepted it as destiny. He had one special interest. To be lonely in nature at night was a favourite with him. There were many small parks near his home and he would often go out to them and sit in the moonlight for hours hoping for peace and happiness. While sitting in the parks he would generally put on the youtube music on his mobile and pass time nicely. The time was rolling by this way and he did not care. He felt satisfied in spite of all. They were three happy people - Mother, father and their son. The small boy was very fond of his parents. He was a good student at the school. He had many friends in the class. Back at home he loved to talk to and watch his dear mother and father. But there was a catch. The boy felt the need of a friend at home apart from his parents. The mother felt this need of the boy but both the parents were incapable of having another child because of some biological reasons. The boy saw other sisters and brothers and wondered.
