Importance of Enthusiasm

What can one do to fight loss of enthusiasm? What if it seems like a dreadful dead end? No need to despair or go into distress. There is always hope. Never say die.

Keep looking around and do not get stuck only on one thing. Try to delve into interesting things in parallel. Do your best to build and regain initiative and motivation for something or the other.

This beautiful world is full of infinite permutations and combinations of things. There are a myriad number of possibilities. Even if your mind says no to majority of them do not give up. Keep searching and trying.

Reading, writing, playing word games or even chess are few of the sound options.

Enthusiasm is the evergreen source of happiness. This springs forth from where? Probably having and maintaining the child in one's mind is a good way to keep the freshness of everything intact forever.

A child is so taken up by all the colors, shapes, sounds, tastes and movements of this world. So in order not to succumb to the hackneyed old man's world there should be a child kept alive frolicking always in the infinitely dimensioned world of the sublime senses.

The five senses make this world go round like a merry-go-round. Come what may try to keep this amalgamation of senses as fresh as possible despite the ageing process. This is possible by keeping the child or id alive in oneself.

Of course this id is not to harm anyone in any way but to keep the beholder's eyes always a good as new. People go to the extent of taking drugs or medicines to attain these effects but simple conglomeration with healthy channelization of numerous sense objects will also tend to augment or even maximize the joy and fun of life.

This concept linked to a child's eye is very natural and felt by all of us as we age. The aged tend to become childish as they grow older. Because of the inherent pains and sufferings of life the sweet child in all of us may begin to fade away with time.

Here one needs to keep it alive and kicking in oneself by enjoying everything as if nothing has happened. And actually the colors of life never fade. We just need to keep the child's eye as fresh as possible to enjoy these colors just as we did from our mothers' laps.

After all both the arms of the balance support each other. The world will go on without any change and the beauty is in the beholder's eye.
